The spine is divided into three sections– cervical, thoracic, and lumbar. Osteoarthritis can affect any and all of these regions. When osteoarthritis appears in the spine, it is known as spondylosis. This is a degenerative disorder that causes joint spaces to narrow and produce pain in the back or neck.
The most common site we treated at Heelex is the lumbar portion of the spine, which is the lower back. The lumbar spine is a main supporting structure of the body and carries the majority of the weight. Periods of inactivity and excessive activity can trigger symptoms.
Along with the lower back treatments, we can also treat the sacroiliac (SI) joints. This is the joint located on the back part of your pelvis and can cause the radiating pain down the back of the legs.
Heelex is a great noninvasive treatment option for back pain. We have treated 165 patients with pain related to the spine, and we have a 75% response rate!
